Hjemstavn.com starts off with an urban psychoanalysis of Elsinore, Helsingborg and Fredensborg by UPIA (Urban Psychoanalysis International Agency). The French group will undertake an in-depth psychoanalytical examination of the three cities’ perception of themselves and their reciprocal sense of community. The purpose is to define what role the provinces and provincial towns are going to play in the future as more and more people move to the big city centers.
UPIA will lovingly take the three patient areas through a three-step program. The starting point will be philosopher Martin Heidegger’s analyses of the importance of home. Part one is “Operation Couch” in which a team of urban psychoanalysts in selected locations will stand ready to let local inhabitants lay down on couches and conduct in-depth psychoanalytical interviews in order to detect taboos, secrets and traumatic experiences. Secondly, the team will conduct a round of interviews with selected key players in the respective towns. Finally, the results will be presented to the inhabitants at a conference.
In Elsinore, the UPIA conference will be included in the official opening of the Culture Yard. While conducting their research and analyses, the UPIA team will be accommodated in private homes in Fredensborg, Elsinore and Helsingborg.
